Landis, Bo-Bandis, Banana-fanna, Fo-Fandis

I spend a lot of time watching sports and analyzing sports. I would never say that bicycling is a favorite of mine, but I still understand the magnitude of the Tour de France and will follow it for the knowledge if nothing more. Lance Armstrong was the man. When I was younger, I watched for any American guy that I could, and he ended up being the only name I could ever remember. Unfortunately, Lance was pretty piss-poor back in the day and I always ragged on him for being a choke-artist.

I have since been proven wrong. Seven times. You all know the story, so I won't reiterate. However, the impact he's made on the bicycling world will last forever. Unfortunately, some people don't really realize what his story means. I will elaborate:

Floyd Landis won the Tour de France this year. He's an American and is therefore hated and scrutinized by the French media, among others. One problem: He cheated. With all the criticism that Armstrong received for alleged doping (but never a failed test), one would venture to assume that everyone else (especially the Americans) would be really focused on their cheating habits. Unfortunately, we're banking on Floyd Landis, and he's a moron.

Not only did he take synthetic testosterone, but he took it as a serious contender to win the Tour, and took it as an American, attempting to follow up the reign of the greatest bicycle rider in the history of the modern world. Did he really think that they wouldn't screen the hell out of his urine? Did he really think that he'd just simply get away with it? If one breaks it down, it's obvious that taking drugs is a completely conscious decision, and ramifications are wrought through the mind upon doing so. This isn't just a bad choice people, this is blatant retardation. Calculated, deliberate, and hopeful. Hopeful that he wouldn't get caught, I guess. Talk about a leap of faith. Anyway... check out the latest.

The Lawyer's Got Talent... or Not

"I wouldn't say that they know. I would say they can presume. They do not have the certainty," Buxeda said.
--Now, how much is this lawyer being paid to say shit like this?

...Don't get me wrong, I'm praying that some young Frenchie comes forward and says he tainted the sample or there was some sort of erroneous test results... SOMETHING. I would love for the Americans to continue to reign...

...but now even Lance will have more defending to do.
