Douchebag Edits Photos for Emphasis
Apparently, some Lebanese photographer was caught editing his war photos from Lebanon. Reuters only found two that he actually doctored. I don't know about you, but when I first heard of it, I was assuming he was putting dead bodies in places where there weren't, showing cruelty that actually wasn't there, or something of that nature.
When you really look at what he did, it's quite laughable. He made the smoke rising over the city darker and thicker. Oooooooooh, scary. Now, I'm not saying that he shouldn't be reprimanded (Reuters says they won't use his photos anymore), it's just not THAT big of a deal. For Drudge to put this as his main story indicates how quickly our news becomes "old."
In fact, there was a study released on Drudge a few months ago that stated that after 36 hours, news is considered old.
That was a bit of a side-note, but back to my original point:
There's a Federal Reserve meeting tomorrow, and Drudge has no word of it.
There are still bombing runs being done in Israel and Lebanon, and Drudge has no word of it.
(This is all extremely surprising to me, by the way, because Drudge is always on top of the massive stories immediately.)
I think my main point, is that after two weeks of Israel and Hezbollah, we're totally bored of the situation as Americans. Our troops aren't involved, our people aren't involved (most of us, anyway), and we are sick of hearing about how many people died or how many rockets were launched. I'm not advocating this attitude, but it just goes to show you how blissfully ignorant our culture is. Do people even think about 9/11 nowadays?
